Girls Camp Hike

Looking down in to East Canyon

Looking down in to Emigration Canyon

No we did not plan on wearing the exact same clothes...even down to our shoes, but it is funny how often it happens.

Tammy and I took off this morning to set up the hike for the Stake Girls camp. We took the Pioneer trail from the bottom of East Canyon up to the Top of Emigration canyon...then we hiked back down! We hiked a total of 8 miles today. The girls will only have to hike DOWN for 4 miles (the EASY part.) It was a nice hike and there was even a little shade along the way. It was fun to think of the pioneers using the same exact trail. Then we got in our air conditioned car and drove into the Salt Lake Valley and went and got something to eat at a restaurant and drove home to our air conditioned houses and took a nice hot bath and some ibuprofen for our sore mussels and climbed in to our nice soft beds...NOT like the pioneers! I am so thankful for their efforts!!!!! I am not sure how they really did it.

These were just some more pictures we took in the afternoon after we were all finished. They are all looking down Emigration Canyon.

How did you and Tammy get that assignment? Is spinning or hiking harder?

Actually it is Tammy's stake calling...but you know that we do everything together :) Spinning gets over in an hour!! This took all day!
