TIME TO BE HOME

This has been the hardest thing I have had to get used to since all of the kids have left home! I have spent about the last 30 years of my life having to be home when school is out and the kids come home from school. This is a goal that I had set for myself the 1st day Melanie went off to school--that I would always be home when the kids got home from school. It was something that I thought all mothers did, my mother was always home when I came home from school. It was not until later I realized not all mothers did that. I still look at the clock everyday and gage how much time I have until Kendell comes home from school. Just the other day Nathan ask me if I wanted to go to Home Depot with him and I looked at the clock and said "well, I can't right now" and he looked and me and smiled and said "why not" and I started to laugh and said "because Kendell is suppose to come home in 10 minutes" I guess old habits are hard to break! But on the other hand, it is almost like I have another whole day from 2:45 until 9:45 when I head to bed.

How fun to find you on here Neighbor! Isn't it crazy that you live so close and yet we seldom see each other. It's great reading what you family is up to. Enjoy that empty nest :)

It's kind of crazy! I am still trying to get used to the fact that I have to "be" home at certain times. It kind of throws my mojo off!
