Quilt retreat in Idaho
This was so much fun!!! My friend Mary from Mud Lake invited me to go to her quilt retreat with her this fall. It was held in Swan Valley and it was so pretty up there. We did a lot of sewing there was probably around 40 ladies there. We spent a few nights and got "a little" sleep, we ate and sewed and ate and sewed....
They had a contest where you had to design a quilt block with the main fabric that they gave you (the flowered) everyone added their own accent. They gave out prizes for most artistic and best design ten they put everyone's name in a hat and drew out one ladies name and she won all the quilt blocks. It was really a fun idea.
This is my friend Mary with her beautiful quilt of different flower blocks, she is going to embroidery "Mary Mary quiet contrary how does your garden grow" all around the border.
This was my "puzzle quit" that I made up at retreat.
This was a HUGE slide that we went down when we got tired of sewing...
It was long...
and it went fast. See even old women know how to still have fun!!!!
Fruit jar quilt.
Me working on my quilt.
Me and ginger, it was fun to see some of my old Mud Lake friends.
Mary just finished her table runner.
Ginger and her Halloween quilt.
YES!!! This lady PIECED this bear head together with tiny little pieces of fabric to make the coloring and shading!!! It was impressive.
Cup cake and Apron quilt.
This was MY mystery quilt!!! Everyone was given Clue # 1 when we got there, then as you finished each clue they would give you the next one until your quilt was compeleted.
From here on out are just some beautiful quilts that fun talented ladies made.
Fun fall colors.

I am pretty sure I have been at that cabin before. I could not forget that slide. It was for a RS presidency retreat when I was at Ricks. I really had no idea where I was so could have never gone back.
My Young Women went to girls camp (with the stake) there two summers ago when we where in Pocatello. It is really cool there and the slide is so fun!!
Nice update and catch on your blog, Sheila! I love to read about what you and your family do . . . even if it blows my tired mind! You amaze me with your talents, energy and accomplishments! The quilt extravaganza was tremendous. Way to go!
Oops! Catch-up . . .that's what I meant!
That looks like a real fun outing!!! We ought to do a sister thing like that!!!
