Balloon Festival

We started our day watching the sun come up on antelope Island.

They had a balloon festival out on Antelope Island this weekend. Nathan and I went and was disappointed because they only had 4 balloons.

The fun part was that they let us walk around the balloons while they blew them up and it was fascinating to watch.
After watching the balloons for a bit we drove around the Island and saw some wild life.

At night Tammy and I went back out (our husbands wanted to watch a football game)but all they did at night was stand the balloons up and light them up for a few seconds every once-in-a-while just for show. I tried to get some pictures of that but it was kind of hard and they are not the best pictures.

They had advertised "fireworks" and I am always a succor for fireworks but when we were sitting there waiting for them they announced that this was the 1st year for them and they were just a trial run so they would be less than 5 minutes-less than 5 minutes that must of meant they had 1 or 2 fireworks! So we left the crowd and drove back home and got a peanut buster parfait. The funny part of this story is that in the midst of driving home we got caught up in a MAJOR DUI driving blitz and of course Tammy did not have her licence, but they let us go and told us to have a great night. We got our ice cream and came home and sat on the porch and rocked for a while. Rocking seems to solve a lot of problems.

We ended the day with the sun setting on Antelope Island.

I would have liked a picture of the rocking on the front porch. Sounds like fun.

Is this an annual event? I would love to see it. I don't know why but hot air balloons are fascinating to me.
