So I did something that I have never done before, I left Nathan and Landon home to fend for themselves..and to do the laundry, fertilize the lawn and to change out the fans in all the bathrooms...while I went to a quilt retreat for the day. I met a whole bunch of new sewing friends while working on the trek sewing. We took out UFO (UuFinished Objects) and sewed all day long. The lady provided breakfast, lunch and dinner,plus munchies and we just sat and sewed all day!! It was so fun, I guess before the economy got so bad she would get well known quilters to come in and teach and she would do this at a motel in Bountiful. She does have Kim Diehl lined up to come NEXT (2011) May and people are really excited for that.
I started on a little wall hanging quilt that is going to be so cute so I will have to post about that as it progresses.
She had a pin cushion contest this month. My sister Marci had made me the best pincushion I have ever had with a little bag to catch all of by threads in, I loved it so much I found a pattern and made this pincushion for the contest and also one for my friends birthday.
I did not win the contest but I had fun anyway here is a picture of the entry's:

Quilt retreats are so much fun! I'm really interested in teh Kim Diehl one. Let me know when you get more details. Cute pincushion- I have one similar to that and love it. We are doing a day retreat in Mud Lake on May 20th for our guild- Would love to have you come!
